Our second MVW runway challenge was the them of "My Favorite Movie Of All Time". I use to love Mary Poppins growing up. She was always so bright, cheery and magical. Who else can pull a lamp from a purse? You could tell that she loved what she did. Recently I watched Saving Mr. Banks. This was the story about how Mr. Disney courted P.L. Travers for twenty years to get the author to allow them to make a Mary Poppins a movie. P.L. Travers did not have a happy life and she was very alone. It was a very touching movie and made you feel for Ms. Travers. She did not like the movie Mary Poppins and refused to work with Disney again. Saving Mr. Banks showed me that even someone who refuses to be happy can make such wonderful characters. I found Saving Mr. Banks to be a very touching movie. Originally I came up a very classic look for my Mary Poppins theme and I wanted to fly down that run way. Then I came up with a more modern and fashionable look.
