Be You

I have been a blogger a long time.  Recently I had a rather negative experience with a store.  I knew it would not go well when about two weeks into starting the new blogging team they started to send us "tips" on how to take and edit our blogs to showcase their items.  I feel compelled to write this blog post due to that.  

Over the years I have had designers tell me how to take pictures, stage their items and credit my blog posts.  Do you know the number one thing that a blog must do?  Be true to ourselves and our own creative talents.  We blog for us, not for the stores.  

If you are looking to start blogging please do it for you and don't let anyone tell you how, when or what to post.  Yes, there are deadlines.  Yes, we want to edit the photos lightly as not to change the color, texture or look of the items.  That is about the only guidelines I can give you to follow.  So please enjoy blogging and don't let stores who want to be "creative" with your blog do so because in the end it's your blog to blog the stores you love.
